About The Play’s the Thing Productions Children’s Theatre
Mission: The Play’s the Thing Productions is dedicated to producing meaningful, high quality and entertaining theatrical productions for children and families, meanwhile providing advanced theatrical instruction for children of varying performance levels.
Founded:January 2009 Location:Lakeville, MN 55044 Overview:The Play's the Thing Productions is a non-profit community theatre specializing in high quality children's and adult productions. Although TPTT is known for its outstanding Children's productions, we have added performance opportunities for Adults and Older teens in the past 2 years and Adults enjoy their time performing in TPTT Musicals and consistently return for more.
The Play's the Thing Productions,(TPTT), offers advanced performance training through 2 south metro community education offices. When teens and children perform in a TPTT show, they are guaranteed the highest quality of theatrical instruction and performance training offered in the South Metro. Young actors learn true theatrical performance technique from our Directors, and TPTT is unique in that our Children's Theatre shows perform on a very professional level. Not just about the fun "experience" of acting, TPTT actors are challenged to learn all they can during the performance process and will never simply be part of a large group of the same type of character that fill no real function to the show or the story of the show. TPTT actors find success in their Middle schools and High schools auditions and shows, not to mention College Freshmen benefit and are ready to excel at their own college auditions after training with TPTT. In addition, the children who have performed with TPTT, have found success auditioning and being cast at Twin Cities professional houses such as the Guthrie, Park Square Theatre , Children's Theatre and the Ordway, not to mention numerous Fringe Festival Shows and other Theatres.
